Profile:
A native of Tennessee, Amanda Smith began practicing law in
Newport News in 2001 and opened her practice at its current location in
May 2004. Ms Smith's practice is focused in the areas of real
estate, civil litigation, worker's compensation, domestic relations and
estate planning. She is a member of the Newport News Bar
Association, the Greater Peninsula Women's Bar Association, the
Tennessee Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar.
Ms Smith earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree with High Honors from
the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1986 and her Master's Degree
in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in
1988. Prior to attending law school, Ms Smith was a senior program
manager working with the United States Department of Energy in Oak
Ridge, Tennessee.
Ms. Smith obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University
of Tennessee College of Law in 1999. She practiced with the
Chattanooga-based firm of Allen, Kopet and Boyd exclusively in the area
of worker's compensation prior to relocating to the Virginia peninsula.
